Fictional-role evaluation for student support

Two ways to test school-based support conversations

Vuvale Chat supports Student to Student helper conversations and Student to AI Companion conversations, using a village-style support framework for persona guidance, discussion phases, and trainer-gated replies.

Main choices

Choose the conversation pathway

The website has two core testing modes. The role controls shown in chat depend on which pathway is being used.

Student to Student

One student as seeker chats with another student acting as helper.
  • Select Seeker when writing as the student or fictional student.
  • Select Helper when writing as the student support person.
  • When Helper is selected, the Trainer option can suggest a safer or better response before sending.
  • Multi-persona is hidden in this pathway because the support comes from the student helper.

Student to AI

A seeker chats with the AI Companion.
  • The chat stays in Seeker mode because the user is seeking support from AI.
  • The Multi-persona option becomes available for the AI Companion.
  • When Multi-persona is on, choose none, one, multiple, or all personas.
  • If no persona is selected, the AI infers the most suitable support role itself.
How it works

A guided support workflow

1. Read the instructions

Use fictional assigned scenarios only. Students should not enter real private problems.

2. Choose the pathway

Use Student to Student for peer-helper conversations, or Student to AI for the AI Companion.

3. Chat through phases

The conversation should move through disclosure, exploration, containment, guidance, and resolution.

4. Complete the evaluation

After testing, submit ratings and comments through the evaluation form.

Evaluate
Seeker Multi-persona Personas: Teacher-coach
I am being bullied at school, but I am scared to tell anyone.
Support AI (Teacher-coach): I am sorry this is happening. You are not to blame. Would it help to think about one trusted adult?
Maybe my form teacher. I just do not want it to get worse.
That fear makes sense. You could write down what happened first, then ask to speak privately before class.
Village support roles

Personas are inferred from need

Students should write naturally. They should not ask directly for a persona. The AI can infer a role, or users can limit the available roles when Multi-persona is on.

Evaluation

After testing, complete the evaluation form

The form captures usability, AI support quality, persona fit, discussion flow, Fiji context, trainer support, safety, and short comments.

Evaluation covers

  • Student to Student helper support
  • Student to AI Companion support
  • Trainer-gated response improvement
  • Direct, short-vague, and Pacific code-switch message styles

Safety and study boundaries

Vuvale Chat is a prototype and evaluation platform. It should be used with fictional assigned scenarios during testing.

  • Do not enter real private or serious personal problems during the evaluation.
  • Real student concerns should involve trusted adults or appropriate support.
  • The system is not a replacement for counsellors, parents, teachers, medical professionals, or emergency services.
